Note:
Characters must be installed into the default directory, or they will not work.
( EG: C:\Windows\Msagent\Chars )
Option 1:
Select the Actor you wish to download and install. When the window for downloading opens,
check the box that says Run this program from it's current location. This procedure can be followed
for all downloads from this page. This will allow the installation to be automatic and will place the files in
the correct folder for you.
Option 2:
Select the Actor you wish to download and save it to your hard
drive. Once the actor is downloaded, run the installation, downloaded, file. After this is done, the speaking pages
will no longer take any time to load. Everything will be instant.

Before you go ahead and start downloading everything on this
page, here are listings of what is needed for each operating system. You may use these links or use the links further

The following components are missing for Windows 98 or earlier users:
NOTE:
When using the L&H TTS3000 engines with the
Microsoft Agent characters, you should also install the SAPI 4.0a runtime
binaries since the characters are compiled to use the L&H TruVoice engine
as the default speech output engine. Microsoft Agent also installs the SAPI
runtime binaries with the Microsoft Speech Recognition Engine, the Speech
Control Panel , and the Agent Character Editor. So if you install these
components then you will NOT need this download.
If you can't find a language, You may want to check out
other third-party speech engines that support Agent; they may have the
language you're looking for.

Note:
The following plugins are not needed for agent pages to run,
but are here to enhance your use of the program.
If you would also like to play with more plugins that my pages support, you will need
to download such plugins as Speech Recognition for use with voice command
pages! You must intall the Speech Recognition plugin to have this
option enabled.
WARNING:
This is a good 6 meg download but well worth it for the fun
you'll have with the agents. :~)
Also you will find here the Speech Control Panel
used for playing with the settings. To enable speech recognition
on an actor... when he is loaded and the plugin has been installed hit the
SCROLL LOCK key and speak your command. Try saying hello to the genie on the
Fortune page.
